you can go to bob barnes at vernes chrome plating he has 30 plus in metallurgy i believe is what he said, he has a liquid he puts on any metal and it tells him what it is .. i didn't invent this stuff just saw it in action and sharing what i found ,, also didn't mean to use all caps ..

I know Bob quite well, He did all the chrome on two street rods I built over 30 years ago as well as a few things I my boats. I don't think he has any such thing magic liquid or spray.

The post with these pictures posted 11-09-13, had written with them, up until today at 1:37 PM that these parts were ready to go for type III hard anodizing. WTF happened there. Did Bob pour some magic liquid on them and tell you that wasn't going to happen with these parts?
Like I said OG, you keep posting words and less pictures, and you are just reaffirming what some of us already know

what i said was i had part ready to go to be hard type111 anodized and powder coated all these were polished and clear coated they look nice don't they ? did you look at the pictures of the black hard anodizing they look great too, and the powder coating was a exact match to my boat color very happy with the way they turned out.. not too happy with your abuse but its ok your old and grumpy i get it lol

for some reason you grab a few pictures out of many and add to it lol heres the rest of the photos you missed , and bob does not do anodizing of any type but you already know that and aim sure will throw that soon enough , i called bob and asked about his magic liquid he said " it was something he mad 20 years ago to tell the metal type , and that it won't break down all different metals within a given family but it works for his purpose .. my mistake sorry ..

Sonic Plating did the hard anodizing
Vernes did the powder coating, polishing, and chrome ... he does not do anodizing at all

All right, I'm going to put this out there again but I'm not going into longwinded detail again.

AQ17 is the same as 17-4PH (H1150 condition)..............................135,000 PSI tensile, 105,000 tension, 70,000 torsion
AQ22 is Nitronic 50 With a slightly different H/T process..................145,000 PSI tensile, 130,000 tension, 86,000 torsion
K Monel is nickel 500 or K500.............................................. ........145,000 PSI tensile, 110,000 tension

These materials are all subject to work hardening if not machined correctly. They can get micro stress cracks and fail.

i went to the company you had mentioned and i had them picked as my supplier if i got a new one now its confirmed thanks for the help

He's talking about magnetic properties of stainless. However 17-4 is magnetic.
