They had my boat and brought it to my house (coastal Carlsbad) yesterday when they evacuated to make sure it was safe and get as many boats as possible inside before they had to leave.

Yes. Fires at the closest point were 6 miles south of us. I know other members evacuated in San Marcos and I hope they are OK and their houses are safe. Only issue by me is the ash in the air, very heavy today.

Yup.
Chatted with Steve Royal who is in evac region in San Marcos last night, he stayed home. Sent me pics of like 8 engines parked on the street behind him, standing guard in case of flareup. Most of the fire had been driven east of him by then.
