What kind of job, professional, trade, what would you guys be looking for, there's been a few big companies that are relocating here as we speak, Hertz is moving their corporate offices here, 400 new white collar jobs in the 80K range and a some other good companies.

I am an IT Support Specialist and my GF is an Accountant. One thing is she is afraid of hurricanes...

You guys shouldn't have a problem finding work, those jobs are golden almost anywhere.................there's only been one "H" in this area in the last thirty years, Charley in 2005 and with hurricanes you have days of notice, unlike tornado's or earthquakes that hit immediately, explain that to her, when you have days notice that it's coming I'm sure you're both smart enough to get in your car and drive North out of it's way, that's the last thing on my mind when we moved here................lmao.

Awesome, I am going to let her read this thread when she gets home from the office so she can see everything you wrote.

Cool and when she brings up about the house thing most are concrete block and are built to with stand "H"s and that's what you have insurance for, I've never slept better in my life, sounds like a visit should convince her, good luck.

I just googled Tween Waters and I don't recall anything like that being on Captiva when we were there close to 28 years ago (my how the time flies !). All I recall of Captiva is a few homes built on stilts, a beautiful beach that went on forever and an amazing little harbor we boated up to at the far end of the island.

Pretty much a whirl-wind grand prix trip, started in Miami, two days working our way up the East Coast stopping in West Palm Beach. Then to Orlando for my wife's business conference, then back down the west coast staying a couple of days on Sanibel Isl., then down the east coast crossing over to Miami for the flight home.

One question I do have, in previous posts you've provided pictures of you cruising canals past homes, docks and boats, is that typical of the canals I see in the aerial images of Cape Coral ?
Should I assume that home prices go up the closer to the main body of water, versus being way back where it seems it could take a lot of idling to get out ?
Yes, those pics are fairly common and yes, you are correct again, the closer you get to the river/GOM the more expensive the houses are, like I said we live in SW Cape which is in my opinion the best part of town, if you haven't been here in that many years you'll be surprised of the changes, all for the good, sounds like you need to visit also, fly into Ft. Myers, it's a great airport.
