The Catalina Island Thread

After working here for 6-8 months now, and going on week 5 of my current gig, figured I'd start a Catalina thread.

I'm not an island expert by any means, but after working here for so long you do learn a few things.

I'm normally here Monday-Thursday. Last year I rented a small house in the flats and I was here typically Sunday-Friday or sometimes longer. But that interfered with my river trips, so Mon-Thu this year is all I'm gonna do.

Last year I was normally in the general seating area on the Express, this year Commodores Lounge. Easier to catch a nap

I'll post up some more pics later, if anyone has any questions about the Island let me know. I'll tell ya what I know.

Last week I was fortunate enough to be around when these rolled in to the Lobster Trap. Best damn prawns I've ever had

This was last Friday. Friggin amazing water isn't it?

I'm not gonna bash on businesses or hotels, but I will say this about my current hotel.

Who puts the bathroom receptacle above the toilet and ties it to the light switch? Oh, and that happens to be the only plug in sight. So if you're gonna plug your charger in to it, make sure the shitter seat cover is closed or your chargers gonna take a salt water bath

We have one of those commuter boats that makes daily trip from Ft. Myers Beach to Key West, they're a gas, our kicks azz, place looks like fun, expect the hotel, not so much, have fun.
