Okay, got the timing cover base machined tonight.
The material is faced and the dowel pin holes are drilled along with 2 bolt holes to hold the work piece down. Sub plate is then faced and dowel pins drilled and pressed into the plate to locate the timing cover for machining.
Part is then faced and profile roughed out with a insert hogging mill.
It's then finished with an endmill on the profile and the cover recess is machined in.
All the mounting holes are now drilled and the lowers are tapped for the cover. Bolts are now put in the mounting holes and tightened so the part doesn't move when machining out the inside profile.
Inside profile is machined
And 1 finished timing cover base.
