My grandparents took me here on a road trip when I was 10 or 12. Really thought it was a cool place.
Its a bit off the 10 but def worth the visit if you are into these types of things.

X2---We took our boys there a few years back on a travel baseball/road trip loop and it was really cool. Not too many bats flew out at night, so on the way home when we went by our Havasu place they wanted to go to a canyon we used to go shooting at back when I was in high school and we saw more bats fly than at Carlsbad which was weird.
