    Cable Airshow

I lived right next to Cable when I was a kid and would watch from the roof.
I had a friend at the time who's dad had a hangar there so we'd hang out and ride 50s around the airport. Fun times.

I heard yesterday that the committee was having trouble coming up with funds for this event.

My buddy told me it had something to do with the tower operation and the aerobatic planes. It was mandatory to have the tower in operation which cost the show $15,000. I guess it was thrown on them last minute so they had to hire the workers instead of trying to find volunteers. They may not have the aerobatic planes next year if they can't reduce the costs. It sucks because that money was supposed to go to a charity.

Looks like it was a good time. Couldn't see the pics very well on phone, but they look cool viewing from PC, thanks for sharing.

The FAA demanded the tower be manned at a cost of $15K to the Cable family, the Air Show proceedings go directly to the kids that are in the Civil Air Patrol and the JR Naval Academy. All the guest planes have their fuel paid for by the Cable family as well so for them to pay out another $15K is not gonna happen, next year it will only be an Air Fair unless something changes.

We spent yesterday at Tim(RVR LVRS) hangar, good times.

Thanks for the info, I couldn't remember if it was $50,000 or $15,000. My buddy's Hanger is 208.

Well that's interesting. Sounds like they need to put on some sort of fund raiser to raise money for next year.
