A watermark can infer ownership. I doubt he has rights to the Archie Bunker pic, but stranger things have happened. I would also imagine I would receive a cease and desist letter before getting slapped with a suit, but stranger things have happened. There are also issues with stamping other people's IP with your brand or TM.
