I'm gonna call this trip a rookie scouting trip. Next year we're doing the whole enchilada, and we're gonna do it right. We almost made Coconuts on Sunday, but we had a wounded soldier. Figured we better stay near a bunker Welcome to www.hotboat.com and thanks for the kind words.

Great pictures. I would like to say welcome to www.hotboat.com to all our new members. I can't wait until next year so I can go. Should we a rent a big house with docks so we can have a www.hotboat.com meet and greet BBQ (aka Party) or stick with hotels? Input please

One of the things I failed to mention is I understand there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 200/bars/restaurants scattered all over this lake. I also understand there is in the neighborhood of 30,000 boats registered to people who live or vacation on this lake. I also failed to mention some of the homes that we saw, just around the MM we stuck around in, were amazing. Some were more along the lines of mansions really. I loved the fact that nearly every home we saw had it own dock(s) and many had lifts. You guys have it real rough out there

There are quite a few nice places to rent and some of them have decent sized docks to have a party on them. If it were me coming to the lake for the first time I'd definitely check into some of the following places:
Camden on the Lake 7mm: http://www.camdenonthelake.com/?gcli...FRPl7AodD3YAug
VBRO Vacation Rentals: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals...-of-the-ozarks
Tan-Tara Resorts (it's a little older place but the Canadian's said it's a blast, they have both the hotel and rental condo/cabins) http://www.tan-tar-a.com/
We head to the lake almost every weekend from Omaha (5 1/2 hours one-way), for the Shootout weekend we come down on Wednesday to make a long weekend and catch all of the festivities... Jim
