Im a winner and took the whole shaft out of the engine. I see that the distributor only fits in 1 way so I placed it in and have it sitting flush. So is the timing off because I took the entire shaft out?

We have several local Marine shops in the area you can refer to the advertisers section for contact and phone number. Good luck and I'm sure someone will chime in, but give them a call.

If the distributor is turned at all, even a tiny bit, the timing is off and should be set with a light. How big is the boat? I don't normally like running engines here since I am in a residential neighborhood, but am right off the 210 freeway at the San Dimas/Glendora border, might be able to fix it up pretty quick.

It is a 19ft boat on a double decker trailer (waverunner on top of course)
Be great if you could fix it!
