Yet another Hallett fix????

so here's the deal.... I hate this swim step, and I hate the fact that they put the ladder on the left side... I think it should have been on the right so you could look at it and make sure it's up before you take off...tht and the teak sticks up too tall and is uncomfortable to sit or walk on..I wanna take the teak off and run it down a table saw and make it thinner.... but I don't know how thin it can be and still not warp when it gets wet??? any feed back welcome..

How about some contrasting composite strips popped out of the same mould with texture... Make them whatever height/color/texture pleases you... OR just Refinish the surface with textured gel...
