Same thing that happened to my kid. He was t-boned in the intersection. He was driving a lifted full size Bronco, she was driving a Cherokee @ 40MPH. Pushed the kid 20' sideways. Never hit the brakes while on her cell phone. Told the police officer that my son ran the red. Fortunately the guy behind her was an off duty fire chief.
