Actually, I'm a Phantom freak.

Seen it 6 times and thanks for the heads up.

The last time we saw it was at the Pantages (the Ahmanson is better), and I shelled out $350 a seat. Sat next to a group of ladies who had seen every Phantom show, night after night. Dedicated.

I've also read the book twice.

Wife bunred me back when we were dating and I didn't get to see Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. But, I've seen it twice with Dale Kristen, and once with Benson.

Phantom is the biggest music event in history by attendance and sales, last I saw it had generated $6BB in sales with 130MM attendees and Andrew Lloyd Weber is one of the wealthiest entertainers ever, him and McCartney.

wow I had no idea it made that much and was that popular.....I have seen in twice and grew up with it having my grandparents taking me to see it.
I have been to the Pantages once and from what I remember the leg room there sucks!

It's good to see other phantom fans lol. I listened to the whole soundtrack at the office today.

Netflix has the 25th Phantom Anniversary show recorded in London, it's the full-on Phantom experience and a great flick. Sierra Boggess plays a great Christine and is really easy on the eyes. Brightman and Crawford also make an appearance, but Crawford cannot sing anymore.

The movie too, with Emmy Rossum, she sang her own parts but was trained in Opera before acting.

The onlyu LLoyd Weber shows I have not yet seen is Cats and Evita. Seen Jesus Chriost Superstar (with Sebastian Bach from SkidRow as Jesus), Joseph & the Amazing Dreamcoat and Starlight Express; and I've seen quite a few other musicals, but nothing compares to Phantom. My daughter and I know every song, word for word. Jesus Christ is also a great show and the movie is cool too. I don't know how to love him and Everything's Alright by Hawaiian born/disco queen Yvonne Elliman, and the title track, just awesome.

I also want to see Cats, Elaine Paige is awesome too. Without a doubt, she throws down the best versions of Memory and Don't Cry for Me Argentina

That's the deal these days with all the female singers. They all try to power voice everything out, like Christina Aguilera does; Arianna Grande is a perfect example.

But, sometimes, perfection can be found with a little more delicacy. Like the difference between Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton with I will always love you. Clearly, Houston has the better voice, but nobody can top Dolly's fragile delivery. Elaine Paige versus Barbara Streisand with Memory, Paige sings it way better. Brightman versus Yvonne Elliman with I don't know how to love him; clearly Brightman has the best voice, but Elliman delivers it.

Heck, even Kristofferson versus Cash on Sunday Morning Coming Down...shitty as it sounds, Kristofferson sings the better version.

Todays singers on the talent show - they all sound the same. Incredible voices, but incredible voices that all sound the same.

Just added it to my Netflix list. To be honest, I haven't really seen any other musicales aside from the lion king, which I enjoyed. I have been wanting to check out Jesus Christ Superstar so maybe I'll see that one next. I'm with you on knowing the songs word for word....I have the music on my iPhone lol

Another favorite Soprano, Susanna Rigacci and the genius Ennio Morricone. Only a dream to see these two, unless I fly to Europe, it's not happening.

Seen the Lion King twice, EDIT, Beauty and the Beast twice, Lion King once.

People rave about Wicked but I bought the CD and tried to listen to it repeatedly, but the music is just not there so I didn't want to waste my time. Lloyd Weber delivers on all his shows except for Joseph.

Years back we hired this kid from East LA named German. He was a Mexican guy from City Terrace, living in a house right on the hillside overlooking the 10 freeway, the house had adobe floors (mud). Anyhow, he was abreak dancer and was one of the kids in the Madonna/Borderline video. A guy truly from the hood in every sense.

So he trained with me for about a week and back then I only had two cassette's, Roy Orbison and Phantom. I listened to both every night on my ride home from wherever I was in LA to Riverside. They chilled me out.

So one morning I had to pick German up from his house. When I arrived, his about 5-year old daught jumped out onto the patio and scremed "Christine, Christine" as she belted out Phantom as best she could with her 5-year old Mexican accented voice. I will always remember that little gorl, in City Terrace, running around the house singing Phantom, lol, it was pretty darn cute.

The part where you understand what Phantom is all about, "Christine I love you", as he tells her to leave.

The cool part about having first row seats is seeing the emotion on their faces; the bad part is, Phantom is best viewed from a fair distance away.

Watching the 25th show now...they nalied the Meg Ghiry casting. Be sure to check it out.
