16 Wow! Our Jack Russell is going to be 12 in couple of months...she's finally starting to slow down a little bit. I hope she has another 4 years in her.

Are was going strong till 11. She was swimming at Bass Lake with a tennis ball in her mouth right next to me. Took a wave to the face and down she went. I saw the whole thing happen, took about 30 seconds to find her. By the time I did and got her to the beach she was gone. Tongue out, eyes open. My Coast Guard training kicked in and I started infant CPR. I got her back! I'd say she was gone long enough to see the Rainbow Bridge. I was so focused on the task at hand I didn't realize there were about 15 people huddled around and a few other dogs. I only knew 3 of the people. Everyone was crying. After a visit to the vet to check her lungs, we noticed she'd lost her hearing. She's a sturdy little trooper, broken front leg, broken back foot, pine needle stuck straight in her eye and drowning. She still try's to run and jump, I'm sure she thinks she's haul'n ass, but it's more of a fast trot.
I'm sure going to miss her when she's called up.
