Can't believe it took this long for somebody to post a thread about the Catalina Ski Race this Saturday. Show some respect -- it's the 66th annual, making it one of the oldest continuously held boat races in the country. Should be a classic match-up -- Todd Haig is going for his 12th overall win and reigning world Men's Open champion Wayne Mawer from Australia is in town to make sure that doesn 't happen. Last year Haig set a new course record doing the 62-mile round trip in under 50 minutes. First flight of boats go off at 8:53am followed 7 minutes later by the rest of the field. Queen Mary is the best spectator viewing area.
