Tahoe is a beautiful place as evidenced by the pictures in this thread.
Never been to either, but the Delta looks like it would be more fun to me. I used to read a lot about it in The Outboard Church on PB. Those guys go out and rip it up.

Tahoe is on the top 3 list in the world of beautiful lakes that are natural... spent many summers and winters up there in the water at both times!!! Its something you have to acclimate yourself to. In mid July when it CAN GET up to 100* up there, the water is awesome.... and in the winter after sitting in 115* hot tubs by the lake and then jumping into the lake water.... oh yea!!!! that will wake you the hell up!!! I mean its totally swimmable ... not like you are gonna go hypothermic from being in it....
As for the DELTA.... Grads is so far out of wack here, just goes to show you he is really no boater at all.... the DELTA is the best place all around for having fun on the water in fast boats running thru the back sloughs and rivers and having places to actually GO TO.... with lots of good people out there too (if youre not an A**Hole to them and think you are so much better than they are...) they will pick you out of a crowd in an instant.... so thats why Grads doesnt get along so well out there.
Some of them may be run down but thats mostly the fault of this great state of CA... upgrades mean code issues and compliance and many of these older places have been around from the 30s, 40s, 50s and cannot be touched by law unless you teardown and rebuild the whole damn thing.... plus theres the history of these places to experience.... The newer chain restaurants like in old SAC arent so bad but they have big cash behind them and politicians in their pockets... theres so much to do out there for just about anybody. Not so blingy or highdollar though... those types should just stay away!
