I'm guessing its the Chimney of an ancient under dweller's house.
If there were underground mines, it could be an air shaft to let in fresh air. But that would mean either a grate or a big tunnel at the bottom. A wier or intake of some sort, would have a tunnel about the same size as the intake.
How many of the cross braces were there on the way down to the bottom?

Here's one video....the quality still sucks. I'm uploading another one that is better quality and shows more. This was the first video without the flashlight as you can see at about 25' it gets dark. The camera was also bumping off the wall.:thumbsdown. In this video you can see gold at :18-:20 but it doesn't show up on the youtube video

Here's another boring video...there's a fish at 1:15. I showed another one of the HD videos to my friend who does gold panning and he agrees it was gold that we saw and it could actually be a vent shaft for one of the gold mines. It seems to open up at the bottom.
