Serious question that I never felt comfortable to ask before bc I didn't want to be eaten alive, what makes a Schiada so cool? Is it the build quality? Durability? Ride? Efficiency with a given power plant? It's the most discussed brand I see, just trying to get real Schiada insight. :)
I'm a cat guy if that helps to understand my disconnect.
I don't have a schiada, but, everyone I've seen is built with it seems perfection in mind. The glass and rigging on the ones I've seen are near perfect. Now, of those that I've seen, I'm not sure if if they were rigged at schiada or some place like prime or GT, but they were stunning.
They also have very sharp entry to them and 15 deg of "V" compared to a spectra/Howard 12.5 deg. Obviously this is going to go through ruff stuff better.
I have never seen a vectors bottom and always wondered if they were the same or if something was changed, like strakes or an added pad etc.
The Schiada is a full v the Hallett V Drive hull has a one inch dropped keel that runs the majority of the lenghth of the keel ,the boat actually climbs up on the pad about 50 . The chines are a different design and come into the bow differently I have one of each in my garage when you are in town stop and take a look .
Mitch what about Howards?? How do they compare with big HP??
Schiada is the 57 bel air of boats. Its a hot rod that owners will throw ridiculous power and $$$ at.
They are solid hulls and ride very good for there size. I have seen older schiada that were well rigged as well as boats that were nothing special. I would wager the quality started getting really good in the last 15-20 years.
There more a boutique builder....you place an order with a huge deposit and they call you when its ready.
Lots of talented riggers have worked there magic on blank hulls.

I cant honestly say if they were a splash or not i appears that its a highly modified schiada bottom ,when you look at them side by side visually there are alot of differences even in the entry and bow. I have driven and owned both and do not think there is much of a difference in ride or handling example Mike Gs "RexOnes" 21 Schiada and my Hallett are rigged basically identical with the exception of the bottom ,they ride and drive about the same. The Hallett is lighter you can feel it under acceleration and it flexs in rough water The Hallett takes some work getting it off the pad and back in the water going into a fast turn you need to set it down before you enter , hope this helps ...
I keep seeing these Schiadas in the winner's circles of the ski races, over and over. I suppose nobody told these guys about all these superior hulls, of which you speak. I bought a 21 RC that we have thoroughly enjoyed and the people I purchased it from drove away with a license plate "F2 Champ" and it was indeed the world champ who skied behind that old barge of ours.
