Special Event at LB Marine Stadium, August 22
Pass the word please -- on Saturday, August 22 stunt water skier/wakeboarder/hydrofoiler Tony Klarich is celebrating his 50th birthday attempting to ski/ride/skim on 50 different things (picnic table, oar, pallet, suitcase, ice chest, etc.). Tony has rented the Stadium for the day and it's a free (no admission charge) event from 8am to 5pm. Should be fun -- lots of former water ski and wakeboard greats plan to attend. Please come to Long Beach Marine Stadium and enjoy the day.

For those of you who didn't make it to the Stadium on Saturday for the "50 for 50" event, it was both entertaining and a lot of fun. Probably 600 to 700 people came down to watch Tony Klarich ride 50 different things and they weren't disappointed. One of the highlights of the day was when Mike Murphy (Tony's uncle) took his custom 11' 3" Sky Ski out for a successful run to set a new height record for hydrofoils. Hard to beat a free day at the Stadium with this kind of show and perfect weather.

I went and had a great time!!! Hopefully he makes this an annual event! 51 for 51??? It's not like there isn't anything he can't ride on water.
Mike's record breaking ride was great too! It was fun being a part of it as a bystander.
