    Long Beach Pics

This is just me shooting things I found interesting. I got to hang out with the K-24 guys. The Aussies were very nice and let me take pics of their stuff. Their v-drive is very interesting. Smaller than ours but very beefy. They don't do a mid-plate. They do a push plate. The race with the K's and the Aussies 6's was fantastic!!! They use basically a 360 ci Dodge NASCAR motor and they freakin" haul ass!! They had to weigh the K-24. It came in plenty heavy. I really liked the P/S 367 from Parker. The motor in that thing sounded the meanest of all the natural asp motors.

The bad: By the end of Sunday, the pits were full of vehicles that were not towing boats. I don't know how they got in, but they were blocking the path to and from the south ramp. People would drive them in, lock them up, and then leave. If I had a forklift, that f'ing silver dodge truck parked by the K-24 WOULD BE IN THE F'ING OCEAN!!!!!
What's with people and freaking dogs. I like dogs, but the boat races is not the place to show them off! Some had 15ft leashes getting tangeled up with stuff.
And there must have been 100 bicycles in the stadium. The pits looked like a bicycle parking lot. This just made the crowded situation even worse.
My favorite was the fat guy on his harley giving rides to people going around and around thru the pits on Sunday afternoon!

To the guys running this race, you might want to get a handle on this crap.

But I had a blast. I finally got to meet Billy B in person. Thanks to Steve and all the K-24 team (D21) You guys run a tight ship!

Nice work, thanks for sharing... That is the first look I have had at the AFTERMATH of the K711, that looks bad... :(

Ya, the hull of the K-711 is cracked all the way thru. The driver of the 711 hung around the K-24 pit on Sunday afternoon. He was a little sore but otherwise ok.
