When I was 6 or 7 me and a friend would do that. When we put a few quarters on the tracks we waited in panic because we thought for sure the quarters would derail the train
:p
We never did find the quarters afterwards. I think they got shot out instead of shmooshed

My kids put a penny on top of a quarter and the train smooshes them into one.... Pretty cool
