Bet you knew at least one person who's father worked for Ford, making Model Ts in the Pico Rivera plant.

I can hear it from the others already. THEY BUILT FORDS IN PICO RIVERA??. Yep, they sure did. Chevys and Pontiacs in Van Nuys too!
Bob, had an uncle that worked at the Long Beach plant making 1930 model A fenders and a few high school friends that worked at the Pico Rivera plant. I can remember going with Ak Miller to the Pico Rivera plant to pick up two 427 SOHC engines that came in by rail.

Yup, grew up in West Garden Grove. Sprindale and Chapman.
Yep, I lived right there off of Onyx between Springdale and Valley View.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out and smokin, shouting "Holy Shit ...What A Ride!"

I never met anybody old enough that doesn't remember EXACTLY where they were, and what they were doing. Not a single person. Its pretty amazing when you think about it.
