    actually if I sold all my equipment I might almost be able to buy the lens some get to use, lol. It's the bigger boat theory re-visited. I went all out and bought a D5100Then I decided I could justify(in my mind,lol) a D7000 at twice the price. now I want a D600(full frame/pro camera) at double the price again! lol, someday

    Just remember the glass is the most important part.

    For shooting boats, you are probably better off shooting a D7100 with the best glass you can afford. The 7100 is high MP and the DX (crop sensor) will give you more reach. Reach is important as we never seem to have enough lens when shooting boats.
