    I'm hooked on all the rewards etc though. Rarely due my credit card bills surprise me.

    I used my debit card which is essentially the same as cash. Only time I use credit cards is purchasing stuff on the internet.

    He means actual cash. You have $500 in your wallet and the next day it is gone...you know you spent $500. Debit card receipts get stuffed in the wallet and forgotten about (if you even get receipts) until you go back and add them up.
