I know the 21 vdrive out performs the I/O with out a doubt. My 21 I/O is turn key starts every time and runs nice and smooth.
Although if I had a left nut, I would give it for a vdrive

Doc, I was hoping you would post up a picture of her...

what did you notice as the big difference? I know a v drive is slower with the same power, as it runs flatter on the keel, with out the out drive you need hp to get it on top of the water, but when it up there it's safe and fast...too much trim on an out drive and it will start kiteing and hopping

I've driven a Schiada 21RT with a 540 Bulldog I/O and comparing it to my Dimarco 21 V-drive cruiser (its the same bottom as a Spectra and Howard) with an LS6 my V-drive road smoother than the RT, power was similar I think the V-drive was a little slower, the RT with the I/O backs easier but I'd take the V-drive any day of the week over the I/O. I've never ridden in a 21RC so I can't compare but I've ridden in a few Rayson Crafts and thats the boat I dream of having.
