    outtings with your significant other.

When your walking around a public place do you hold hands? At a restaurant do you sit in a booth across from each other or next to each other? In a car with a bench seat do you sit shoulder to shoulder or in your proper seats? For many these lil gestures usually go by the wayside as you season in years together. There is a small percentage who have kept it up and those are usually folks older then my parents and a decent amount of folks my parents age.
I had the pleasure of witnessing an old couple today (prob 80's) act like they were just barely falling in love. It was a lil funny to watch actually but in the best way. I introduced myself and asked a few questions to find out they have been together 68 years and have outlived their own children. I was floored. Both sharp as a tack and from what I could tell still in love since the first day they met.
*I asked them their secret and they just smiled at each other and changed the subject. They were feeding each other and laughing and they were sitting side by side in their booth.*I got me thinkin.......... am I doin it all wrong??

What say you? We all love our significant others but are we still in love like the couple I mentioned above? This question is geared more towards the seasoned vets of 10 or more years but all can participate.

I am very fortunate to have married a wonderful, sexy, friendly and caring woman 30 years ago this month!!

We still sit next to each other in restaurants and hold hands in public............I am the luckiest person in the world to have been able to spend most of my life with my best friend

There are two schools of thought imo.

    1. Public displays of affection will not be tolerated.
    2. Public displays of affection are mandatory.

    Take your pick.

We'll still hold hands when we go out alone, otherwise we generally use them to hold a kid or push a stroller.

I've known my wife 30 years now, married 26. She is definitely my best friend. We have a lot of similar feelings/interests about things but also enough differences to not clash or whatever if that makes sense.
We don't hold hands when walking (no particular reason) and always sit facing each other.
It's really nice to be able to talk around her like most guys talk to their buddies. There is nothing I can say around her that would offend her, as long as it's not directed at her.
