Once off the water I just run the boat on the hose for five minutes to flush the motor and inner cooler. Then a good thorough wash of the boat and trailer and your all done.
Ideally the best thing would be to take the boat to a local lake the next day and dip it. This would more thoroughly flush the trailer. The salt ads a bit more work to the after boating routine but it is worth it every once in a while.
I guess it's not that big if a deal then. Do you all run sea strainers, or is it that necessary for an occasional run in the salt water?

I run one for the motor and one for the inner cooler. You would be fine without it. I have never had to clean mine out. Never even seen anything in it.

I don't let not having a sea strainer stop me from taking my boat in the ocean. I would like to do this run next time.
