They work the same. But, this is a router and I have 2 networks at home with 3 lap tops, 2 chrome books, and an I pad. This thing is on my remote office, then have an extender/access router in the house. And this has a "land line"....uses my regular phone that plus into the 4g router, and it works great.

Way faster speeds than my previous internet, more reliable, and cheaper...even at the high cost of a 20 gig usage plan
