    Looks like .250 thick. How long does the aluminum last? Seems everyone says to use stainless. But I've wondered why, aluminum is tougher than most people think.

    I'm not sure how long the original plate was ran before we purchased the boat, but we ran the same one since we got it, almost two years ago.. And it really wasn't bad at all, just figured.. If we are redoing most of it, may as well replace it.

    Did it appear to have any wear in it? Like abrasion wear.

    Slightly, not what you would expect though.. It's made of the same grade aluminum as the cavitation plates, and how often do you change your cavitation plates?

    When I get home I'll take a picture of it so you can see it after (I think) over two years of racing and testing and boat show rides.. It's not bad at all.
