never boarded anything that big or outside norcal, but that is pretty awesome stuff! you can get seriously pounded in 6' surf! it doesnt even take those 15-20 footers to ruin your day and especially when you have reef bottoms like that type stuff.... we always had sand bottoms and I ate some sand quite a few times getting pummeled in the surf.... but when you ride a wave out its length - what a thrill!!!

Nothing scares you more than a close call in the ocean on an overhead day. Going out without a leash is a bad, bad idea.
