Actually at the Havasu Marina Launch ramp. I was launching my Schiada all alone and he recognized the boat (any my sticker on the truck) from the boards......introduced himself and helped me launch. He even parked my truck for me and walked back down to the launch ramp with the keys......it was above and beyond

I guess that's just about as fun as meeting him at Disneyland.

If you're collecting unemployment, I would say you are employed by the Government.

This may sound dumb...but even though I'm eligible for unemployment, I refuse to collect it.

Yes it sounds dumb. Protect yourself and your family. You paid into the system for times like these which is why it's technically called unemployment insurance when it's deducted from your paycheck. Don't be pridefull as you've paid the policy premium now it's time to use it. You pay into the system for a purpose.

Quick story on my unemployment experience. Years ago I worked for a very large electrical products company. Like $11B+ or so. Very old company. Very steadfast on projections. forecasts, and cashflow. One year, a particular quarter (well in to the future lol) wasn't looking good. I think all of us managers adjusted our forecasts, down lol. So they gave all of us a week furlough, without pay, bastards anyway. HR said we could collect unemployment, and like you, I never collected in my life. So I say, wtf, why not. I've been paying in to this thing forever, why not take a little back. So I do all my paperwork then take off to the river for a week. Someone from the unemployment office calls and says I need to apply for jobs. What? I don't want another job, I was laid off for a week, I just want to collect for my week. She says I need to come in to their office. I say "I'm not coming in", "I'm at the river", she says "well then you're screwed" LOL. I hang up and crack open a cold beer. Hopefully I'll never have to do that again. But if I do, I probably won't say that again

Normally it would have been a Miller Lite, but since I was technically unemployed, I drank Keystone that week
