    Thank you for the question.

I don't understand. Wouldn't you want this discussed in one of the tech areas? Have a conversation started? Isn't that what these forums are for, to pass around knowledge and learn from each other? Maybe they don't want to contact Xpower because they don't want to hear the sales pitch. Maybe they want real world answers from users.

Sure I would. But the question asker wanted to remain anonymous. But don't worry, I too want to learn more about the XPower Drive. Hint, hint

Well then why put the question up here? Post the question in the tech area where it won't get lost in the social side of this place. I think the people bitching about non boating content are half right because 99% of the boating content gets thrown in with the social sandbar. If you don't check for 3-4 days a question like this gets buried never to be seen again.
If somebody is too timid to ask and they ask you privately instead, post the question where it belongs.

Technically, an engine is a motor if you research the definition. Used to drive me nuts too, but the term is not incorrect.

Another very good question. So good we had to go to the source for an answer as I know little to nothing about the XPower Drive. Here's what he said:

Q: Why would I choose a XPower Drive as opposed to IMCO or Merc NXT?

A: XPower warranties our drives up to 1600 hp and it is the fastest drive you can buy. I also guarantee that. It is a direct easy bolt on replacement for the bravo drive.

Q: Do you have a website or more info I can pass along?

    A: www.XPowerDrive.com

Q: What are some benefits to the XPower Drive vs the other options currently available?

A: By far the most high tech drive you can buy. 3 stage fully integrated dry sump system. Oil is in the built in oil tank. Carbon fiber covers. 1 month in a wind tunnel. Over a thousand pages of CFD modeling. Takes the least power to drive over any other drive. A number six takes over 100 horsepower to drive it 7000 rpm. A bravo takes 46 and the XPower Drive 11. It also has about a million other things. It's stronger then a number six which weighs 645 lbs and the X-Power only weighs 202lbs. We have sold over 32 of them and in the 5 years no customer has laid a dollar out in repair. It might be more expensive but in the long run it pays for itself over and over.

I realize this is a somewhat general response, if you have more specific questions it would probably be best to contact XPower directly.

    Thank you for the question.
