Now if the owner of Verizon wants to let his employes use their service trucks to run personal errands or do side work, that's up to Verizon. The fire department doesn't own the trucks. If you have forgotten, the fire dept. belongs to the tax payer.

OK, this is getting too funny. Here's the deal. These guys are assigned to the vehicle for the entire shift. It goes with them wherever they go. Shopping, driving around town to do whatever. Get over it. Amtrak has company vehicles also. We use them all the time to run to breakfast, lunch or dinner. If we are out in the field doing a busbridge, should we run back to Merced to get our personal vehicle to make a burrito run? Ummm. No. We take the car and head over to whatever is closest and grab something. They do also. Get over it dude. As we used to say in the Navy, RHIP. Rank Has It's Privileges. Comes with the territory.
