This is not true. The people here that are critical about them are hot rodders, tinkers, DIY guys. They know what goes in a motor and actual cost. They are expressing their opinion on what you pay for when buying a mercury engine package. That's it, nothing more.

Look I get it, for the mainstay of the boating industry a mercury package is your best option. But understand what you're paying for. If I were to pay that kind of money for an engine it would make 3000 hp, period. I'm not trying to be a dick about this but it's the facts.

I get it too. If I had the time and resources I would order a brand new truck without an engine and have one built

I'd paint it pink as a roosters dink..
