We've scuba dived off Grand Cayman, Belize, Cozumel, Cancun, Cabo, Roatan (my favorite of them all) and many other spots where these sharks have been spotted but you kinda have to accept the risks. I dive with all six of my kids and there are inherent dangers like the 2000 ft. cliff just off Cozumel that occasionally sucks folks over with a gulf current. My sons and I got sucked to about 110' before we caught hold of the reef and worked our way back up. A doctor friend of mine and his wife both got sucked to 140' before they recovered and worked their way back up. Those scare me more than the wildlife. It's their neighborhood and we are just visitors. We have a much better chance of getting hit by lightening back in the boat than experiencing a shark attack.
