The story I got back then was Larry Flynt expressed an interest in selling HB and Darrin with help from an investor came in with a covert offer and bought the magazine. He then dumped Chris who was Darrin's boss and several others. Family feud at its finest. Chris rebounded with Performance boats Magazine and Darrin's efforts fizzled. As Hotboat was spiraling downhill and Chris was gathering up his team and resources, River Dave started up his website.
