CFL Bulbs

I have CFL throughout my house and don't have any of the problems you guys are talking about. They are bright instantly and last a long time.

No idea, I bought them when I moved into my house 3 years ago at Home Depot and haven't replaced one yet

Most of the ones I had were from HD, ecosmart. I replaced several of them after a few years. The PAR30 that go in recessed took 3-4 minutes to get bright. Had backyard spots that took even longer, so long the dog could piss and shit and be done well before they lit the yard.
But as I said before, the light from LED's is so much better than any florescent can provide.
