    True, but still, when I used to work out of Yermo, I would wander up to Calico ghost town every now and then out of sheer boredom I suppose. The women in Yermo are so ugly that the word "toothpaste" must have been invented there. Anywhere else, it would have been called "teethpaste"....in any case, the guide told me one day that the tailings around Calico had several million in gold within them...but it was not cost efficient to mine it out....

    I talked to a friend today that said they are pulling no less than $1000 a day of gold out of the dry lake bottom. I will be bringing my gold pan next time.

    Really not uncommon out west to have old town under water where there has been a Dam built.
