For the most part it is Irv Brendel's version of an original wood Mandella. So were Raysons, with change to the entry that would have extremely difficult to do in wood, but being glass, it was no problem with the Rayson.

Not sure how many Rayson Crafts Bill and Chuck Stearns had, but somewhere in the mid to later 1960s Stearns switched over to Aqua Craft for his ski race boat. I used to occasionally drive their old all-white #3 Aqua Craft (which was a lightweight Unicore hull with a Gus Davis 427 hi-riser Ford) at the ski races when Bill's hip and leg were really bothering him. Not sure why, but Stearns' Unicore Aqua Craft was the only hull of that type that didn't seem to have a bottom problem. Several of the other Unicore Aqua Crafts of that vintage were constantly repairing the bottom. When they ran, they were fast.
