Make an appointment at the Apple Store.....I think there is one in La Quinta?? If it can't be fixed they will trade you for the same model very reasonably.....even if you break the screen or jump in the pool with the phone it's way cheaper than dealing with your carrier.......don't ask me how I know

That will help to turn it off until I get to the apple store, but what about turning the phone back on..? I'm afraid to turn it off now, it doesn't say anything about how to turn the phone on, if you cant use the screen lock/power button..LOL

You're right! The phone will only come on if the charger cord is installed. Or, when you hit the bottom center button, the screen will turn on. But, don't try it.
