But is a "record" for a 50' Catamaran by the Marani Sponsorship organization.... so everybody wins!!!!!
Saw this on their FB page: #‎Outlaw‬ is now Marani Bell world record holders, San Francisco to Long beach 8:15:05.

    Whew, glad they finished!

Ok, so here's what happened. I left to head to Marina Del Rey when they were about the Channel Islands. Earlier in the run the boat had acted like it was out of fuel but turns out the brand new pump failed (tank transfer) and so they pulled off the fuel injection and pumped from one tank to the other to continue. About Malibu they experienced another fuel problem and after getting it fixed got underway and made it Marina Del Rey (they waived off that record in favor of SF to Long Beach) so they fueled in Marina Del Rey and then about 20 minutes later came storming through Queens gate and to the finish line at 8 hours 15 minutes 05:19 seconds. Yes, that beats the 9+ hours that Nigel and Team set with the Lucas Oil Ocean Cup so the Marani Bell is now the Cat Record holder but the Owner/Driver Bob Russell already plans to go back and beat his record. If they didn't have the stops they were going to be just over 6 hours by our calculations to Long Beach but alas that's racing. BTW, PTC, it's not my rules, it's the APBA/UIM rules that we play by. If one wants to try to beat it they can by going for either the Lucas Oil Ocean Cup in a V with diesels or the Marani Cup with a Cat with twin screws. It's all good and I'm happy that they made it safe and sound. All in all a very good day and the start of some good records to come.

Bummer, but regardless an awesome trip! Congrats to them. 8 hours and 15 minutes calls for a long day in a boat I'd imagine!

Time out until I have time

Well seems I need to do an intervention on this thread. I could go in to a long diatribe of my opinion of Grads and how I truly believe he's harmless and just has a voracious appetite for attention (Grads FYI that's a nice way of calling you an attention whore). But I'm not going to do that this time. This time I think Grads is out of line.

Personally I see no reason for the negativity, comments, or jabs that were made. They do nothing constructive. They only ruffle feathers and cast shadows on someone's hard work and efforts to do something that no one else has done. So I've deleted all of them. I hate deleting shit, but if that's what I need to do make a point, then I will.

I'm not going to ban Grads, this time. But I am going to ask Grads to rethink his future comments. Especially when they do nothing constructive and appear only to be made to ruffle feathers.

As Ross said, unless you're out there in the water racing or running next to them, you don't have a leg to stand on.
