Nascar saved their sorry asses from looking like total stooges. In all the time Ford built the POS, they never got a single one to go 500 miles, IN ANYTHING! 3 consecutive LeMans victories, and not a one with their so called "premier" engine.

Most expensive one trick pony to ever come out of Detroit.

You are moving the goal post again... At first you said FUEL cars were the yard stick used to measure success... NOW it's the 24 Lemans and such...

Don't put words in my mouth Bruce. I said fuel was the ONLY success they had AT ALL. If not for the tiny ass success they had there, even with all the failures, they would have NO success at all.

On the other hand, the Hemi kick ass in every thing it ran in, and the BBC still is.

OK, so take off the SOHC heads and throw on a pair of medium riser heads, what do you have???

Cheaper engine that can kick ass on the SOHC for hours on end. A world beater that is so vicious that the FIM told them to take the engine home and don't bring it back. An engine that won 3 straight Le Mans where the SOHC was SUPPPOSE to be superior but wasn't and Ford knew it.
Never said anything bad about the FE, only the stupidity of OHC heads on a engine that only added unreliability and nothing else.

I still see TAB around from time to time. I'm sure, like all the others, it's not the same formula. Sad, the older drinks are so much better. Death to high fructose corn syrup!
