Geez, I hope they don't change this and let this happen, I don't care about the texting crap, but not actually talking, that would be horrible.
I agree! I'd like to enjoy my cocktail in peace!

Hmmmm haven't heard that one. You can now keep your phone on under 10,000 but it has to be in airplane mode. Just a matter of time before that rule goes away. They have zero proof cell phones affect airplane electronics. Just the opposite I believe.

Right.
So why all the fuss about phones? When you make a call at 10,000 feet, the signal bounces off multiple available cell towers, rather than one at a time. That means too many phone-happy jetsetters might clog up the networks on the ground, which is why the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — not the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) — banned cell use on planes.

I never flew on a plane with smoking.
I'm torn, on the left hand I like that my phone is off and We can get lost in our thoughts during a plane ride and no one can ask me for anything.
But, on the right hand...the one that predominately holds my phone, I think it's a great idea!

My worst experience was coming back from Greece where deodorant seemed to be banned. There was this larger older lady that stunk. It was really bad and became unbearable when she reached for the overhead compartment. I remember taking a picture of her so this story would have pictures.

I would have gladly traded your stinky fat lady for the foul stench I had to endure

The SWISS machine builders I worked with seemed to wear that like a badge of honor... They would wear ONE work uniform all week instead of changing daily... IN THE SUMMER, unAIRconditioned shop, St louis, 90-100 degrees, high humidity...
I had this old portly drunk guy sitting next to me from Vegas to Long Beach, he was lit and had to have BOTH arm rests... One of those guys, and SouthWest was giving out those cheese/peanut butter crackers... He had them EVERYWHERE, orange cracker crumbs all over himself, me, his wife, the seat... he was a mess and nearly steam rolled my wife when he was trying to get off the plane in Long Beach... He was a real mess...
