The Original "Shockwave" built in 1961 for Sam Simonoff (Simonoff trucking co. ) Ralph Muirhead eventually ended up owning the boat shortly after and raced it for a couple years before he started Unlimited Marine. My Pop's took the color photos a couple weeks ago before he left Idaho at Jerry Gilbreath's place. Jerry just finished doing a COMPLETE restoration on the boat, Pop say's it it top notch !! trailer an all. If you know who Jerry Gilbreath is you KNOW he doesn't do ANYTHING but the be$t. Me & Pop's went over to Bunky's place last week, he had the B&W pics, he's gonna dig up some more photo's an info on the original build, race history etc. for us to get to Jerry. I have no idea WHAT Jerry's gonna do with the boat, trying to talk him into bringing it down to Parker an run it in the Thanksgiving regatta and the spring fling in April.

Here's a writeup on one of Jerry's other wood boats, Jefe
That's one of my favorite boats. I've met Don St. John and his success in Shockwave is well documented. About 10 years ago Mike Leach raced it at Long Beach and I got some really good footage of it. The last time I saw the boat was at Irvine lake about 5 years ago. If memory serves I think Dale Lansbury owned it back then.
