In answer to you question, yes, some will because it is unique and unusual, and people with that kind of money will buy. I see stuff in ultra high end houses that is only there because they can. There is already a street rod being built around a 1350 QC4C. If one person is willing to stuff one in a 21 ft ski boat, somebody else is willing to stuff one in a Early Ford.

I don't see them ever selling a push rod BBC based engine for what they stab a boater for. Just no justification for it. Last time I checked, raping was illegal in this country, except in the marine industry, and it the engine is painted blue.

This same topic came up on another site(car related mostly) and the prices for some of the stuff in the 1350 QC4V are pretty crazy. 6000 for a crank, pistons are 430 plus each, harmonic damper 1500.00, Head gaskets 360.00 EACH! And it goes on and on. And they don't even have to use a gun, and you don't get kissed, and its all perfectly legal.
We are about to start assembling the equivalent of a Merc 540 Bulldog. All new parts except the Bow Tie block, All equal or BETTER parts than Merc used, and for about 1/4 the cost. Maybe less. Took 4 years to collect everything, E bay, spam forums, swap meets. But its all new quality stuff except the Bow Tie steel cap block.
