He did not do the mass start or do away with the handicaps that he promised but was told was undoable. But he insisted were doable.

He ran a race using a existing format and divisions on an extended course with the help of a hired director because he learned right off he had no clue. The above previous claims he had proved he was clueless and needed somebody to handle it for him.

So I would say Scott pulled it off, RDs side of it, getting boats on the water, not so much.
The race happened and completed.. I counted 21 boats starting but I may be wrong as I was not at the start line. I've also heard 34 boats started. Grads asked the question funny.
