    Average weekend gas consumption

I was wondering how much gas everyone uses on a normal weekend, with the different type of boats and lakes it's interesting to see how things are different across the country.

We only burned fuel from April to September when we lived at LOTO, but down here our fuel bill has ballooned a bit.

A normal day is maybe 2-3hrs up and down the river. About $250 in 100LL or so.

About $300 in diesel to get to Havasu drive around and get home. Maybe another $300 in boat gas as well.

I've been boating off a lift for the last twenty years, so I forget about the gas some use getting to the Lakes, geez, that could be as much or more as boating.

55 gals of C16 at about 900.00 will last about 40 minutes.

Maybe you need to slow down and do some idling.

Well, I may have fibbed a little. There is maybe another 15 minutes of warm up time in there.

It takes us about fifteen minutes to idle out to the Gulf, that's when it starts costing, if I keep the RPMs between 3-3.5k it's not to bad, but after that it sucks, for one of our normal offshore runs I'll burn through 120-130gals, the thing that sucks is when you don't trailer your boat you're stuck at the mercy of the marina's and gas is close to $5 bucks a gal on the water now for 90 oct.
You guys have to be using JP5 or something crazy like that.
My gas bill used to get a rest during the winter, not so much this past year or this up coming winter, but it's tons better than snow and ice.

We went out today. Never had the engine under 3500 rpm, but rarely had it over 5000 rpm. Was out for 3 hours and burned 15 gallons of fuel.
