Those buttons are on her right side.

That's what I was thinking but I know very little about men's shirts so I went with it

You are just seeing the top of the snap. Men's shirts button right over left. I have that exact shirt, OK the same shirt in a much larger size, and it snaps right over left which makes it a men's shirt.
