I plan on getting out there sometime in the winter for a weekend of boating in sweaters just to get out of town. Does the water in Havasu stay warm til end of Oct? I've tried boating in Needles last year at this time and the water was fucking freezing. I think I almost ran over a polar bear out for a swim!

I just put $900 into my boat this month. I sure would like to use it one last time before it's too cold lol.

Heading to Havasu tomorrow for a few days. Then put the boat away. Will be at the Turtle Sat. since Mr. Hotboat said he would buy me a beer.

I would opine that the single best month of the year to boat on Havasu can and usually is October.

The weather is typically still in the 90's (no need for a bimini), the water is still in the high 70's and all the "tourists/Raider fans have called it quits for the season so there are very few people on the water but still enough people to have some fun at Steamboat or in the channel. Every year is a little different but sometimes you can take this all the way into the first few weeks of November....some years you can't. You can pretty much peg the water temperature in the lake by the recent overnight temperature......the lake temps tend to mirror the overnight lows........not true for the river but true for the lake. Give October a try......you will likely love it!!

PS.....as far as I'm concerned the water is ALWAYS fucking freezing up in Needles

Unless I absolutely have to and there's no bathroom with a few hours plans I won't prop check anyway. So October-May is great boating time bc I'm not sweating and gross from the heat.
