I thought the title of the thread was "Can we talk Schiada's here?" Why is it every thread someone has to chime in with 10 different brand boats that are better than the one that was asked about? You guys should start your own thread to fuck up and talk about the shit boxes that you think are so great! For a river, pleasure or ski race boat the Schiada is tough to beat. Especially in a V drive! I have a 79' RC that I just finished a 3 year restoration on.
The thread is called lets talk about Schiadas . I have yet to see one comment pretaining to the original question from a Schiada owner ? Engine placement , gears ,props turbos , blowers ,

Badass and might I add that this boat is our very own "February Hotboat of the Month" Winner!!!
Steve never drove it !! he traded it for a 16' Donzi
It was my boat that I re-rigged with the 300xs, it was so much fun to drive, fast, quiet and sipped the fuel, PhatCat has it now in Havasu and he loves it
Phatcat....now Paul65k still does have it and it is a freakin blast to drive.
I've owned 5 Schiada's (never a 21' Vdrive) but a 21RC with O/D and now the RT with 300XS and I can say that this boat is very controllable and fast....the midrange acceleration (45 - 75) is awesome.
I have never had a boat that handled the chop as well as the RT and judicious use of the tabs will keep the boat absolutely planted in the position you put it in.......the Schiada is heavy for sure compared to some of the lighter boats like a Stoker and surely the top end suffers (mine is right around 80 with 26P 4 blade cleaver) but the extra weight sure make a difference when you are in 3' boat chop :thumbsup
I think this hull design was about 10 years ahead of the O/B technology needed to truly unleash the true potential but now that the 2 are married I think it is the perfect lower cost/maintenance/fuel usage alternative to the grandaddy of them all....the 21' RC with a V-Drive!!!
